With this ancient traditional material wood still coming onto the market, this fine example shows a submission for the material price as early as 2018, which still impresses me today, from several aspects.

The first aspect is the already mentioned combination of old-fashioned building materials, when you look at very old half-timbered structures, how are they connected together, you discover that wooden nails were used back then due to lack of alternatives. It has the nice advantage that different building elements were used, but the construction as such was pure, one hundred percent wood.

With this very observation, one company has succeeded in saying how do we manage to transform this traditional wooden construction nail into the present day. By developing a wooden nail that, in this system, is adapted to a compressed air shooting device, making it possible to shoot wooden nails purely into a wide variety of types of wood and wood materials using compressed air. As a result, if you consistently think about this again, it is possible to implement hundred percent diverse structures, wall structures and façade fastenings with this new wooden nail system.

Another nice aspect of the big topic of healthy materials is that it also happens again and again, in this case happens in quotation marks, that material discoveries are made, partly through random processes in which you say you take this idea wooden nail, transported into the present day, shoot it in with compressed air.

When looking closely, i.e. when cutting, to examine how firmly does this wooden nail hold, it has been found that when shooting in here, a type of welding actually occurs in that the natural lignin of the wooden nail escapes, combines with the lignin of the other wood and is currently being researched further, to what extent can this phenomenon of wood welding be transferred.

Now imagine that we may see in the foreseeable future that wood no longer has to be joined together with different adhesives, but that there are actually welding processes that will then make it possible to weld such wood-based panels together with their natural ingredients without any additional adhesives. Even though wood has a very, very long tradition as a typical, healthy material, these developments show that we are still far from the end of the development chain at the end of the innovation cycle.

I myself am attracted to wood in many things to the effect that it is a material that is also simply a lot of fun to work with and process, you really have the feeling that you are working with a healthy building material here.
