Another, you can say, traditional material, I grew up myself in a plasterer plasterer household, and therefore closely connected with this material more or less from the child's legs on. In a certain way, it was always present.
But I noticed that it had actually more or less disappeared in the market. Historic buildings can only be found in the niche renovation. The traditional coating material for chalk paints.
Lime paints, lime plasters a natural, purely natural material, limestone one hundred percent natural, which is burned, extinguished and can then be used as plaster or paint. With the great advantage, again of this coating, of this material, that it is once a purely mineral product. One hundred percent nature.
The fact that openness, if you like, the building physicists may excuse this term to me. It is precisely the ability to absorb excess water vapor from the room air and release it again when necessary, as well as from the point of view of mold, these lime surfaces have a high pH value, which very reliably prevents mold formation. In addition, lime has an absolutely antistatic effect. Accordingly, dirt does not attract particulate matter, etc.
You could ask yourself now why did this healthy material disappear from the market into the niche for a long time. There are certainly several reasons for this. One of the reasons is that processing pure chalk paint requires considerable craftsmanship, i.e. literally.
I myself have already tried to paint a pure chalk paint several times and had to surrender again and again. What is really needed here is the craftsman, the master craftsman. Accordingly, in my opinion, this is also a healthy material for the work of art.
Deliberately promoting the painting trade, equated with it, it is not enough simply to go to the hardware store, buy a roller, that must, really needs to be learned.
Nevertheless, this class of chalk paints also shows at the moment that it has been possible to offer chalk paints and lime plasters through new recipes and further developments. The major, relevant paint manufacturers now have it all back in their range. For which clever new recipes have made it significantly easier to paint, process and process these modern chalk paints.
In development, the whole thing even goes so far that even from a master's thesis, a paint manufacturer has said how can the performance that lime offers on one side be lived on the other side, not even addressed yet.
With also its strong ability to absorb a lot of water vapor.
Ideally, combining these two materials, combining the best properties in one product and, through intensive research, we have succeeded in developing a new coating material that manages to offer a very high level of processor friendliness.
Very high process reliability, cracking etc. was minimized. And the performance of the clay has been transferred to the lime, if you like. Two very positive properties combined in a new coating.
These are material developments, I have to admit from healthy aspects I bite into them imaginary, I literally get hungry to use such coatings, such materials.
They just manage to transform old-fashioned material qualities into the present day and combine them so cleverly that they can be used in today's buildings without any problems.
