What have you discovered for yourself recently?
That reaching for the tinned tomatoes on the shelf should never be random. The combination of letters and a three-digit number near the best-before date tells you on which day of the year the tin was filled. Trivial? Not at all: the number should be between 190 and 250, only then are the tomatoes perfectly ripe.
What was your life like before hej.build?
Also good, but different. Less remote, less flexible, but also a tiny bit more analogue and less time in front of a screen. All this »New Work palaver« has to come with a small drawback, after all.
How do you stay up to date?
When it comes to my neighbourhood, definitely the dog park. When it comes to my field, my colleagues (thank you for that) and lots of reading in the form of trade journals, but above all the web and books.
Who would you like to swap places with for a day?
Volker Wissing, but never for a day, only for one decision: fewer cars in public space.
What is your favourite building and why?
No particular building, but typologies and styles. Empty plots between buildings fascinate me. And brutalism. And now that I think about it, sacred buildings too. They do something to me emotionally, at least.

Which topic is keeping you busy right now?
Tell us briefly which building products it’s about and what you want to achieve. We’ll get back to you with an initial assessment. We often start with our »Day One« workshop: a day at your premises, where marketing, sales and senior management set priorities together.
