1. Scope
These general terms and conditions apply to all paid in-person seminars run by hej.build and to orders for our trade fair guide »Messe heute – Messe morgen«. Sections 2 to 7 and 10 apply to the seminars, section 8 applies to the trade fair guide; the provisions on liability and the final provisions in sections 9 and 11 apply to both. By registering or ordering, you accept these terms.
2. Registration and conclusion of the contract
- You register via the contact form on our website.
- Once we have received your registration, you will receive a registration confirmation and an invoice by email.
- The contract is concluded when we send our registration confirmation.
3. Procedure and delivery
- Our seminars take place as in-person events.
- Beforehand, there is a digital kick-off meeting with all participants.
- The minimum number of participants is 10.
- If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the seminar.
4. Terms of payment
- The seminar fee must be paid by bank transfer within 14 days of the invoice date.
- You can only take part in the seminar if the fee has been paid in full before the seminar begins.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT at the statutory rate.
5. Cancellation and changes
- Cancellations must be made in writing by email to office@hej.build.
- Up to 14 days before the seminar begins: cancellation free of charge
- 7–13 days before the seminar begins: 50% of the participation fee
- From 6 days before the seminar begins: 100% of the participation fee
- You may name a substitute participant free of charge (please provide their name, email address and phone number).
- If hej.build cancels the seminar, you will receive a full refund of the fee.
6. Materials and copyright
- You will receive digital seminar materials.
- All rights to the materials remain with hej.build.
- Audio and video recordings during the seminar are not permitted.
- We reserve the right to take legal action in the event of any breach.
7. Photo and video recordings
- Photos and video recordings may be taken during the seminars.
- You may object to the publication of recordings of you.
- You may object at any time; an objection applies to future publications.
8. Trade fair guide
For businesses only
- We sell the trade fair guide exclusively to businesses (Unternehmer) within the meaning of Section 14 of the German Civil Code (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch, BGB), not to consumers.
- By placing your order, you confirm that you are ordering on behalf of a business.
Ordering and conclusion of the contract
- You order via the order form on our website; by submitting it, you make a binding offer.
- The automatic confirmation of receipt by email only shows that your order has reached us; it does not mean that we have accepted it.
- The contract is concluded as soon as we send you the invoice or the link to the digital edition by email.
Delivery
- We send the printed edition by post to the billing address or to the different delivery address you provided. Shipping is included in the price.
- You receive the digital edition as a PDF file via a personal download link, which we send to the email address you provided. It is included in the »Print + digital« edition.
- The link works for twelve months, so please save the file after downloading it.
Prices and payment
- The prices shown on our website at the time of your order apply: we charge the »Print + digital« edition per printed copy and the »Digital only« edition as one licence.
- All prices are exclusive of VAT at the statutory rate.
- The invoice amount must be paid by bank transfer within 14 days of the invoice date.
Right to use the digital edition
- The ordering company receives a simple (non-exclusive), non-transferable right to use the digital edition for its own purposes.
- The company’s employees may save, read and print the file and share it with each other.
- It is not permitted to publish the file or parts of it, for example on the internet or on social networks, or to pass it on or sell it to persons outside the company.
- Uses permitted by law, such as quotations, remain unaffected. All other rights remain with hej.build and the authors of the guest contributions.
Personalised file
- We create each digital edition specifically for the ordering company: the company name and the number of your order with us appear on every page and are also stored in the file properties.
- This makes it possible to trace which company a file is licensed to. This information must not be removed or altered.
Liability and data protection
- Section 9 applies to liability; the invoice amount of your order takes the place of the participation fee.
- Our privacy policy explains how we process your order data.
9. Liability
- We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence.
- In the case of slight negligence, we are only liable for breaches of material contractual obligations.
- Liability is limited to foreseeable damage, up to a maximum of the participation fee.
- These limitations do not apply to injury to life, body or health.
10. Data protection
- We only use your data for organising the seminar, for invoicing and for informing you about new offers.
- Your data will not be passed on to third parties.
- You have a right of withdrawal regarding the use of your data at any time.
11. Final provisions
- Should individual provisions be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.
- German law applies.
- The place of jurisdiction is the registered office of hej.build.
