What did you discover for yourself recently?
That reaching into the tin rack should by no means be arbitrary. The combination of letters and a three-digit number near the best before date stands for which day of the year the can was filled. Pill trap? Nothing there, the number should be between 190 and 250, only then will the tomatoes be super ripe.
What did your life look like before hej.build?
Good too, but different. Less remote, less flexible and also a bit more analog and less in front of the screen. But there must also be a small downside to all this “New Work fuss.”
How do you keep yourself up to date?
As for my neighborhood, clearly through the dog park. As far as the subject matter is concerned, by my colleagues (thanks for that) and through numerous reading in the form of specialist journals, but above all the web and books.
Who would you like to swap with for a day?
With Volker Wissing, but never for a day, but only for one decision: Fewer cars in public spaces.
What is your favorite building and why?
Not a specific building, but typologies and styles. I am fascinated by vacant spaces. And brutalism. And when I think about it, religious buildings too. They do something to me emotionally, at least.
