The opportunity to take a critical look at how building products are communicated.
What is most on your mind at the moment in architecture, interior architecture or building products?
The question of how we as architects can help create more urban and spatial quality with less material and less land use.
What does good architecture/interior architecture mean to you?
Finding an individual answer to each design and building task. That means questioning existing design trends as well as structural and functional conventions, while transferring existing knowledge from architectural history to our current requirements.
Is there a current highlight or an all-time favourite project?
It’s difficult to settle on a single project. Here is a small selection: Alvar Aalto’s town hall in Säynätsalo, Hans Scharoun’s Philharmonie in Berlin, Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s Kunsthaus Wien, Lacaton & Vassal’s school of architecture in Nantes, Frei Otto’s Multihalle in Mannheim and OMA’s Educatorium in Utrecht.
